Odo Otin PDP Ward 13 Welcomes the Long-Overdue Resignation of Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun

The PDP Leaders of Ward 13, Odo Otin Local Government, have described the official resignation of Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun as long overdue, citing his recent questionable actions against the party. His resignation comes as a relief to Ward 13 members who have long seen his actions as detrimental to the party’s cohesion and success.

Alhaji Oyedokun has never been a faithful member of the PDP since his return. His activities have often suggested a lack of genuine commitment to the party’s goals and ideals. Many have observed that his actions and rhetoric frequently aligned more closely with those of the opposition, leading to internal strife and discontent among the PDP ranks in the ward. His apparent disloyalty and conflicting interests have rendered him a polarizing figure, ultimately causing more harm than good to the party’s unity and effectiveness.

Since his return, Alhaji Oyedokun has lost significant political relevance within the PDP. His influence has waned considerably as party members grew increasingly frustrated with his inconsistent stance and lack of dedication. This erosion of his political clout has been evident in his diminishing ability to rally support or sway opinions within the party. Consequently, his departure is seen by many as a long-overdue resolution to an ongoing issue that has hindered the PDP’s progress and strategic initiatives.

Notably, Alhaji Oyedokun worked against Governor Ademola Adeleke in the 2022 gubernatorial election. His opposition to the party’s candidate was a clear indication of his divergent interests. During the last election, he attempted to convince members of his ward to defect to the APC, although he did not succeed in this endeavour. His actions during these critical periods accentuated his lack of allegiance to the PDP and contributed to his declining influence and a sign of his newfound partners of anti-development.

With his departure, the party can now move forward without the internal friction that his presence caused. This shift is expected to bring more members into the PDP, as the ward can now focus on strengthening its unity and collective efforts. The departure of what many considered a ‘leech’ from the ward is anticipated to invigorate the party’s base and enhance its appeal to new and existing members, fostering a more cohesive and committed political community.
