“Nigerians Are Not Animals You Forcefully Cage From Their Constitutional Rights”, – Osun PDP Cautions Apc Over Careless Statements

• Asks Opposition Party Not To Enrage Osun People

The people of Osun State have been described as fantastic patriots, who must not be insulted on altar of politics, especially in the face of the debilitating effects of the nation’s economic woes, The State rulling Peoples Democratic Party has cautioned the opposition All Progressives Congress.

The PDP also warned the Apc to observe decorum in its desperate attempt at playing politics when matters of public safety and security of life and property are  being discussed, noting that, such sensitive matters are always beyond public asset thieves and treasury looters cramped in Osun Apc.

The ruling party lambasted Apc for its shameless effrontery in asking the state Governor to clamp down on the innocent people of Osun and members of the organised civil societies, instead of civilized approach of His Excellency,  Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.

The state chairman of the PDP, Hon Sunday Bisi in a statement on Thursday wondered how Apc elements ever found their way into administering a civilized society like Osun when all they expected the Governor of the state to do at a time like this was a wicked show of force against peoples agitation, even in a Constitutional democracy.

Recall, the state Governor, Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke had commisssioned engagement of several segments of the society, including youth organisations, CSOs and student bodies in a dialogue session aimed at maintaining and sustenance of peace in Osun, over the planned national protest. This is what Apc labelled as fraternity with the potential protesters, in their warped thinking, to ridicule President Tinubu’s federal government.

We understand the fact that Osun Apc chairman, Tajudeen Lawal and his lifeless advisers are too idle to be wise, but it is essential that their mental pluggings are not sent on sabbatical while making public comments on sensitive matters of wellbeing and security especially.

Nigerians are not animals and the nation is not premised solely on the jungle system of force as Apc is used to. A responsible government will not sit back and refuse to engage its people for constructive deliberations when confronted with valid agitations. It is the global best standard in crisis management and not the Apc option of ‘Kill and Go”.

As a party, we commend the state Governor for his proactive and matured handling of the issues bordering on the planned protest, which essentially was aimed at safeguarding the people of Osun State.

We also commend the state government under Governor Ademola Adeleke for his transparency in handling and distribution of palliative items accrued to the state so far, the latest of which was explicitly made public by the ministry of information some days ago. We specially commend his Excellency for ensuring prompt payment of charges on the said palliatives, which amounted to several millions of naira in order to access the food items for the downtrodden in the state.

As against Apc confused shenanigans,  the PDP administration of our leader, Governor Adeleke has utilised every tranche of the palliatives brought to the state after the Apc federal government’s unilateral removal of fuel subsidy which ultimately  escalated inflation of essential commodity prices.

The state government has not only distributed the food items transparently but had also effected cash awards to the state workforce and pensioners alike, running well over N2b now admitted by the Apc, after rigmaroling around several unfounded figures.

We stand in confidence that the state Governor,  Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke will continue to discharge his duties conscientiously, in line with the human face pact signed with the people of Osun State.

While the state government is encouraged to continue to cooperate with the federal government palliative regime, we also urge our leader, Mr Governor to continue in his jawjaw approach to resolving issues, as against the double jeopardy of war war stance of the failed men of yesterday.

Signed:
Hon Sunday Bisi
Osun State PDP Chairman
