The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has strongly condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its baseless claim that the former APC-led administration, under former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, completed the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS) Office Complex.
Reacting to the claim, PDP’s Director of Media and Publicity, Hon. Oladele Bamiji, described the APC’s assertion as irresponsible and a clear display of bitterness towards the current administration’s achievements under Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Hon. Bamiji emphasized that Governor Adeleke’s administration has prioritized completing abandoned projects inherited from previous administrations, including the OHIS Office Complex. He noted that the project was only 38% complete when abandoned by the previous administration in July 2022, obviously after the devastating Electoral verdic of the good people of Osun State.
Upon assuming office, Governor Adeleke requested a detailed schedule of abandoned projects, including those from the Oyetola and earlier administrations. He personally invited contractors handling the projects to return to their sites, ensuring their completion without minding who started what.
Amongst several projects taken over for completion by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, are the OHIS Office Complex, Osogbo Circular Road and the Old Garage-Ikirun-Ila Odo Dual Carriage Road, ostensibly abandoned by Oyetola-led administration on the mundane altar of political bickrings with his former boss and benefactor
The party called on the APC to acknowledge its failure to complete inherited projects from its own government, a task diligently undertaken by the current PDP administration.
Governor Adeleke chose to complete projects like the OHIS Office Complex, unlike his predecessor, Oyetola, who abandoned similar projects initiated by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, even when His Excellency also could have chosen to abandon the OHIS Office Complex like Mr Oyetola did to those initiated by his own party administration.
Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke in a patriotic departure from Oyetola’s wasteful and clumsy attitude, chose to complete the projects, bearing in mind the propensity of wasting the state resouces, had such projects been left unattended to like Oyetola did to other projects of the same government he served as Chief of Staff for 8 years
“Come to think of it, the better forgotten APC administration of Oyetola had the choice in the world to complete the OHIS project and took the glory of cutting the ribbon, as that was all that mattered to him as an elected office holder. He shouldn’t have left a project at 38% completion rate, even with ample time and opportunity of achieving 100% completion before leaving office. There wouldn’t have been any need for the Imole government to expend further resouses of the state on it”
“Oyetola to us and to the good people of Osun, who sent him packing from office, does not even have the neuro carriage or absorbing charisma of a statesman. He is not a man who would complete a project and leave it uncomissioned. That was impossible with a man who failed to prepare as simple as handover documents for his predecessor, just because he lost an election he was never going to win, even if Mrs Kafayat was Professor Yakubu”
“It is therefore a shame of genetic proportion, for the APC minnows to attempt to lay claim to a project their defeated Master deliberately abandoned because he was angry that Osun people voted him out of office” Bamiji Stated.
