The ruling People’s Democratic Party in Osun State has told the troubled opposition All Progressives Congress to get busy with profitable ventures in its trying times of forced idleness, instead of reducing itself to an object of animated ridicule, through unmeasured balderdash, ostensibly borne out of unending frustration.
The PDP in a statement from its media office on Wednesday described the mindless allegation of attempt by the PDP administration to bribe the CBN as a mere symptom of crass idiocy by a party drenched in the shame of its failed attempts to usurp authority it never earned from the people as enshrined in constitutional democracy.
The authority invested in the PDP and the leader of the state, Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke by the people of Osun State, the PDP noted, is sacrosanct and such legitimate administration requires no surreptitious schemings to claim instruments of governance already prescribed by laws of the land, unlike the mentally wretched APC, burning all calories of illegalities to crawl back to already lost reckoning.
Instead of alleging the ruling party of bribery, the APC should get a mirror placed on their restless faces and see the real thieves, who amongst other clandestine moves, tried to hoodwink the apex bank with judicial half truths, which later fell flat on their faces, having met brickwalls from the legal departments of the CBN.
The question to ask is why would APC go to the CBN without the CTC of a judgement they claimed was in their favour? Or, why should the PDP be blamed for the APC’s deliberate refusal to attach what they claimed was in their possession as legal backing for their request from the CBN, if truly they were confident such was good and genuine?
We hold that approaching the CBN with distorted judicial particulars was in itself, a crafty move to fraudulently mislead the apex bank for the Yes or No wanderers to steal funds meant for local governments in Osun State.
But for the vigilance of its legal department, the CBN would have been in a mess of throwing the country into another avoidable constitutional crisis, which the APC doesn’t seem to care about, in so far its illegal usurpation thirst is satisfied.
While we expect the APC led federal government to call its babies of insatiable greed to order in their quest to destroy almost all institutions of government in order to stamp their impossible efforts in Osun, we equally alert other government agencies to remain vigilant like the CBN, not to allow some imbecile agitators to set the country ablaze, as such desperate but careless moves, could ignite insumountable crisis for the entire country.
Careless utterances like allegations of bribery against a sensitive institution like the CBN, to us in the PDP, was not only reckless but utterly stupid on the part of the APC. The CBN like many other institutions of government, is a creation of the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria and cannot suddenly become an errand boy or a pawn in the illegal quests of an inconsequential entity like the defeated Osun APC.
These institutions, if APC cares to know, are bound to outlive any government, either national or the federating states. It is therefore delusional for the obviously confused opposition to try and enlist these agencies in their tasteless coup being planned against the will of the good people of Osun State, who out of their freewill, confidence and rejection of the APC, enthroned the PDP administration of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke through a free and fair electoral process.
And for avoidance of doubt and to all objective minds with clear heads, the only valid Local Government Chief Executives are the products of the 22nd of February 2025 local government elections as sworn-in by His Excellency, the Governor of Osun State, Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.
The Otunba Awotunde-led Osun ALGON is also the only valid association of democratic leaders at the osun local council areas, leaving any other group in that name as mere adult jesters and emburdened impressionists, creating scenes of awkward drama in their political grave. These are inalienable legal facts that cannot be erased by wishful whims of some conptemptible assholes.
